At Weaverize, we understand that protecting your privacy — and the privacy of the individuals captured in your photographs — is crucial.
As a French tech company, we operate under one of the world’s most rigorous data protection frameworks, and we are fully committed to GDPR compliance.
Data protection is not just a checkbox — it’s a core value built into our product design, infrastructure, and company culture.
ITAC is designed with privacy and compliance at its core. From day one, our mission has been to offer powerful image recognition while minimizing privacy risks.
Here’s how we do it:
We only process the essential data required to deliver the ITAC service — namely, the images themselves.
Biometric data is hashed and anonymized to the greatest extent possible. This means the original data is transformed into a non-identifiable format, significantly reducing the risk of re-identification.
Your data is used only to deliver the ITAC service. We do not sell, share, or reuse your data under any circumstances. Only clients have access to their data. For our self-hosted plan, even we — the ITAC team — do not have access to your data.
We are committed to being transparent about our data handling practices. We have conducted a thorough Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Our platform can only be used by recognized press member (journalist, photographer, editor, archivist). The client must have an official tie to a press or news agency, or have a press card.
We’re happy to share a copy of our Data Protection Impact Assessment
upon request.
It includes all the details of our data governance approach and the
safeguards we’ve implemented to protect your data.
We are committed to upholding the highest standards of data
protection.
We continuously review and improve our processes to ensure your data
stays secure, private, and handled in full compliance with applicable
laws.
Under the GDPR, you have several rights regarding your personal data. These include the right to:
Access
Rectification
Erasure (the "right to be forgotten")
Restriction of processing
Data portability (please note that bio-metric informations are not portable)
Object to processing
